Shannon is a rising junior, who helped research the basic background information of SARS-CoV-2, and the key role of WHO in responding to health emergencies. She also explained what actions WHO should have taken to efficiently combat this pandemic. Shannon is organized with her work, compassionate, and self-driven to perform well in her academics.
Chow, Bethany

Bethany is currently a rising junior. In this project, she compiled an overarching timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic, researched Macau’s government response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and also analyzed the types of responses governments used to counteract COVID-19, and how effective those responses were. Bethany describes herself as a self-directed learner, a reliable worker, and an optimistic thinker.

Nicole is a rising junior and was in charge of researching the US response in the COVID-19 pandemic. She was also one of the graphic designers for this project. Nicole is compassionate, detail-oriented, and driven by self-improvement and curiosity.
Lin, Brandon

Brandon is a rising junior and researched government responses to Covid-19 in Europe, specifically Italy and the UK, as well as Iran. He analyzed the positives and negatives of the policies that these countries enacted in response to the virus and describes the consequences of how a late shutdown can impact a country, as well as measures taken to counteract its effects. Brandon describes himself as motivated, quirky, and eager to learn.

Kailin (aka. Kathy) is currently a rising junior. In this project, she researched how to mitigate the spread of the virus as well as the economic impact of the pandemic. She was also the website editor, graphic designer (alongside Abby and Nicole), and video editor. Kathy describes herself as a dynamic worker, dedicated, and down to earth.
Loh, Rachel

Rachel is a rising senior and she was in charge of researching how Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong responded to Covid-19, and how those responses affected the spread of the virus. She also compared and contrasted the responses of foreign countries, to come to a conclusion on how America can learn from those countries to improve upon its response in the future. Rachel describes herself as passionate, adventurous, and eager to dive deep.

Ophelia is a rising junior and she was responsible for researching and analyzing CDC’s responses to this COVID-19 pandemic. She gathered information regarding CDC’s actions to the outbreak and pinpointed some of its strengths and weaknesses as well as how those had affected the effectiveness of the response overall. Ophelia describes herself as driven, inquisitive, and diligent.

During this project, she researched the major roles the CDC and WHO currently lead, how the WHO has responded to the pandemic, and also assisted in comparing the different actions countries to improve the US’ own response. Abby was also a graphic designer for the project. She describes herself as an empathetic, ambitious, and passionate person in her studies as well as interests.
